Leicester's Best for Business
Leicester was recently announced as the best place to live and work in the East Midlands again, and it’s easy to see why.
Since starting at The Gresham Aparthotel, I have experienced first hand how vibrant and agile the business community is here from networking, collaborating, and speaking to guests travelling for work.
The data from the Demos-PwC Good Growth for Cities Index shows that Leicester ranks above average for new businesses and transport, and scores well for work-life balance and skills.
Leicestershire is boosted by three top universities, an energetic and diverse business community, and excellent business support.
This business support comes in many guises, notably the annual Leicester Business Festival, through the connections forged and knowledge shared.
The festival is known throughout the UK, and is a fortnight of free events that showcases successes, celebrates collaboration and inspires innovation.
We're proud to support LBF this year as a partner as it returns for its 10th anniversary.
Throughout The Gresham's redevelopment, and in establishing the Aparthotel upon opening, we prioritised forging strong relationships, and continue to do so to this day.
The Gresham Aparthotel and Bar & Restaurant benefits from the thriving tourism and hospitality industries in Leicester and Leicestershire, and the key connections within the community made possible by the standout location in the heart of the city.
This includes establishing The Gresham Network, offering bespoke rates and discounts for local tourist attractions and organisations, and supporting community initiatives such as Leicester Comedy Festival and Bring the Paint, LOROS as our Charity of the Year, Leicester City Hockey Club, and Leicester Riders to name a few.
These have been essential to our growth, and beneficial to both parties, and you can hear more about the impacts of building partnerships at our LBF event in collaboration with Leicester Riders: Delivering Partnerships for Growth.
We have since taken on the on-site Bar & Restaurant, with a new head chef and menus, and will extend and develop those relationships to incorporate this new offering for the benefit of the local community, and LBF is the first step of that.
Our support of Leicester Business Festival for its 10 year anniversary is testament to the strength and diversity of businesses across the region.
By collaborating, innovating, and sharing insights, we can continue to keep Leicester as one of the region's best for business.
