Leicester Business Festival (LBF) sees 30% of event slots secured

Strong interest in this year's LBF is evident, with 30 percent of event slots already reserved by businesses. Organisers are urging businesses to act soon to secure their involvement and avoid disappointment.  Although the festival runs from 4 to 15 November 2024, the build-up has started.

Celebrating its 10th year, LBF is set to feature a diverse lineup of events showcasing innovative business strategies and best practices from all sectors.

Events so far will address industry trends, such as  the evolving hospitality sector and how Gen Z's expectations are reshaping workplace dynamics. One workshop will cover neurodiversity, creating inclusive environments, and the benefits for business growth, featuring case studies and strategies. Additionally, another event will be a live podcast recording with a panel-style Q&A, engaging the audience and sharing valuable business insights.

The festival's timing in November coincides with expected governmental policy changes and economic initiatives, providing participants a unique opportunity to collaborate. Each year, about 44 percent of attendees are newcomers to the LBF events scene.

Richard Osborn, Regional Director at Excello Law and Chair of the LBF Community Interest Company (CIC), said: "Over the past decade, Leicester and Leicestershire have experienced remarkable growth and resilience. The region boasts a wealth of talent and expertise navigating a changing landscape, supported by thriving local sports and creative industries. Notable successes and to name but a few include Leicester Castle’s Great Hall becoming DMU Business School, IBM relocating to Leicester, King Richard III Visitor Centre opening, Leicester’s Space Park securing funding, Mattioli Woods' bespoke offices, Leicester Market and Train Station regeneration, and Fosse Park's expansion. "Leicester Business Festival brings experts from every sector together to share their stories and  improve business practices in our region.”
Lucy Womack, Chair of Trustees at Sir Thomas White Loan Charity said, "Participating in and supporting LBF has been invaluable for us and has reinforced our commitment to local businesses. Last year we connected with inspiring entrepreneurs which played a crucial role in nurturing new businesses and empowering aspiring entrepreneurs. Our event was a great success and we will be hosting a similar style panel this year for aspiring business entrepreneurs."

As a Community Interest Company (CIC), LBF relies upon support from key partners, and this year the list so far includes  East Midlands Chamber, De Montfort University, University of Leicester, IoD, Everards of Leicestershire, The Sir Thomas White Loan Charity, Leicester Hospitals Charity, Highcross Leicester, and TheMusicLicence by PPL PRS Ltd. Support from HQ Recording, The City Rooms Leicester, and Assured Energy further strengthens the festival.
