Two weeks to go - Leicester Business Festival attracts international attendees to featured events
Leicester Business Festival 2017, partnered by Leicester Castle Business School, is attracting international attention, with attendees flying in from Russia, China, USA, France, Greece and even Ecuador to attend the region’s largest business event.
Attendees are looking at the region for investment, inspiration and as a centre of knowledge sharing, and with the diverse mix of events on offer, tickets are selling rapidly with some events already selling out.
DHL is hosting one of the featured events as part of the Festival is being hosted; a guided tour of their East Midlands Airport Hub, one the largest in Europe. For the first time, get a behind the scenes glimpse of one of the busiest pure cargo airports in the UK and understand how they really can deliver worldwide in a matter of hours. It is a great opportunity to see how a leading global logistics company works to ensure they are providing the best service possible in ever more challenging and commercially competitive times.
The Leicester Stand Up Challenge also returns for 2017, with six local business leaders taking the stage to perform five minutes of stand-up comedy for the very first time. All proceeds from the night will support local charity Big Difference Company, which runs the annual Leicester Comedy Festival with the aim to improve the health and wellbeing of communities across the UK.
Spottydog Communications are set to hold a training session on 'Facing the Media Spotlight'. This is a great opportunity to sharpen your skills in front of the media, with workshops covering media, messaging, interview techniques and even an opportunity to test it out with a live TV interview simulation.
#MoreThanBasketball is the first ever National Basketball Conference and Exhibition and this year it will be looking at how the game can grow in the UK. It is taking place at Leicester Arena, home of national champions Leicester Riders. The day includes talks from high profile guests from the world of basketball including Lord Wasserman, Chair of the Basketball Foundation, Stewart Kellett, CEO of Basketball England, Lisa Wainwright, CEO of British Basketball Federation, and Leicester’s own, Kevin Routledge, Chairman of the Leicester Riders.
Other featured events include a Mobile Film Academy, Leicester Business Expo, Careers Speed Networking Event, a live cyber attack, Gateway to China and Manufacturing Growth Challenges 2018. To see all events in the programme, and book tickets visit: www.leicesterbusinessfestival.com.
